The final solution needs to reflect Apple’s visual language, interaction patterns, and reflect layouts similar to other Apple Store pages. ROLE As the design lead, I worked directly with engineers, interaction designers, visual designers and directors at Apple. I reviewed and applied Apple’s visual guide, and set up weekly design reviews to ensure the project met Apple’s high standard of quality. ROLE I worked closely with 2 other UX Designers to created comic storyboards based on use case scenarios. We worked closely with a User Researcher to test these concepts with participants. We tested 3 different concept storyboards using the RITE user research method. We swapped out storyboard frames in between participants to continuously advance the best solution. One of the benefits of using a comic based approach is that participants really open up and shared their own stories. This process was pioneered by Kevin Cheng and I at Yahoo!, which Kevin has captured in his book: See What I Mean: How to Use Comics to Communicate Ideas.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>SCHOOL San Jose Sate University – Industrial Design Project CHALLENGE Design a product that either breaks, hurts, or does nothing. This was an exercise in problem solving by looking for opposite approaches. OPPORTUNITY Most dental items are designed to be used only once. The Oral Travel Mate breaks open to allow refilling of toothpaste and floss, thus minimizing waste and cost. SOLUTION The Oral Travel Mate stores all the items necessary for good dental hygiene: toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and drinking cup. This is great for traveling and frees up countertop space. Traditional flossing requires the floss to be tightly wrapped around two fingers on opposite hands. This technique is awkward and painful. The Oral Travel Mate floss tool replaces one finger and enables easier assess to teeth deep inside the mouth. The toothbrush folds back and nests into itself to minimize the product's height. The lid doubles as a drinking cup. The spool of floss and toothpaste are replaceable making this an environmentally friendly product. MATERIALS Injection molded plastic and rubber STYLE , FORM &amp; COLOR Inspired by other bathroom related products.</image:caption>

Create a Client App for high-end clients to receive concierge level support from agents they have bonded with. While this is centered around high-end fashion clothing, the app allows clients to receive concierge support in a wide range of areas which promotes customer loyalty. The app displays a price tag badge on pieces which are currently in stock, and a photo badge on pieces which have more pictures. ONE WEEK LATER Sherri goes back into her profile screen and is delighted to see that agents are sharing photos of her pieces. The app displays a social badge and number to indicate that the piece has been shared and the number of times it was shared.</image:caption>
